Which of the following lives would you choose for yourself and why? You become the best at what you do, gain fame and riches, but die young. Or, you become the best at what you do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but are fogotten by everyone after you retire.

ReplyDeleteI would choose the life where I became the best at what I did, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but be forgotten by everyone after I retire. I would probably live 60 years before I retire so during that time everyone would know who I was, and I probably would get tired of all the fame so I would be glad that people will forget me when I retired. I honestly wouldn't care if anyone forgot about me after I retired because I would be rich. I would forget about everyone by simply buying things that would make me happy. I probably would be sad if my family forgot about me, but I would get used to it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I also would miss my family and friends if they forgot me.

DeleteI could understand getting tired of the fame.
DeletePeople would probably forget who you are before your 60 years old.
DeleteI agree with you on everything but the part where you say you would get used to the fact that your family forgot about you. I think you would miss them even more over time.
DeleteIf my family forgot about me, i would rather just die young because what is the point of living long if you have noone to spend it with? At least you would be remembered by your family instead of being left behind
DeleteIf I had a choice of what kind of life to live I would live a life where I was the best at what I did, gained fame and riches and was forgotten after I retired. It is not important to me if I am forgotten. As long as I live a fun and happy life it is enough for me. I will be sad if everyone forgets me, especially if it is my friends and family. Also if I lived a short life I would not be able to experience a full life and what is has to offer me.
ReplyDeleteI would also rather live a full life than a shorter one.
DeleteJust like you i want to live a full life and see what life has to offer.
DeleteI totally agree with you man, living a happy life is the most important goal of any person.
DeleteIf I had the choice, I would choose the life where I became the best at what I did, and then live a long life but be forgotten after I retired. I think that we should not live just for the great moments in life. Yes, it is a very nice and pleasant feeling when you are on the top and you are famous, but that is not what life is about. Life has it's ups and downs, and I think we as people should just deal with it. Also I would probably have lots of money left after I retired so I would not mind sitting by a fireplace in my big house remembering the memories I made during the times of my fame.
ReplyDeleteagree ^-^ people just have to deal what life is, and I would love to sit in front of a fire place and looking back on my memories
DeleteI agree with all he said , at the end i am gonna feel proud about my self and even pass it on to my kids
DeleteSpot on Duda! I agree with everything you wrote, live your life the way you want to.
DeleteI agree with everything you said life might not always be great but we always get through it
DeleteI agree with you, I would love a long allife where I retire. I also think it would be great to spend my retiremwnt money
DeleteIf I had the choice I would choose to become the best at what I do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but be forgotten by everyone after I retire. I would choose this because I would have money to do whatever I want and would have a long life to do the things I want. Another reason why I would rather be forgotten after I retire is because then I would be able to go out to public places without people constantly coming up to me and bothering me to take a picture or an autograph.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you completely! What's the point of working hard and getting all that fame and money but never getting to do anything with it!
DeleteI agree with you I would also get sick and tired of the fame.
DeleteI agree with what u said at the end , I would hate for people to be all up on me even the girls trying to get my autographs like no I know I'm famous but at least treat me like a regular pedestrian walking.
DeleteI agree with you because I think that after awhile people do get tired of fame and being in the spotlight all the time
DeleteI would choose becoming the best at what I do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but be forgotten after I retire. Plain and simple answer, I don't care about what people have to say or think. People nowadays are going to try to bring you down during your highest peak. So if I know in my heart that I'm the best at what I do, and have money, who cares what anyone else thinks. As long as I take care of my family and close friends, then at least they'll remember me. I do the things I do for myself, not anybody else.
ReplyDeleteI would choose being the best at what I do, gain fame and riches, but die young. I would choose this because whats the point of trying all your life if no one will remember you? I would rather live and die young I think life would be much funner and people will know you for what you are. Also your younger years of life I think are the funnest and you can have the time of your life. I would personally live fast and die young i think life is way better if you live it that way in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you.
DeleteI disagree with you because what's the point of achieving greatness if you didn't do it for yourself? After your dead it's not going to matter who remembers you, you won't be there to know one way or the other.
DeleteI agree with Maddie because that's true, when you die you won't know if people remember you and what kind of person they remember you as.
DeleteIf I had the choice, I would rather be young, rich and famous, and then after I retire, I would rather be forgotten. I wouldn’t mind not getting any attention from anyone, because I got all that attention when I was younger, and I would already be really tired of it. I would move away far away from everybody, and I would use all that money to keep me happy somehow. I wouldn’t care if nobody remembered after I retired, because I would want to relax and not have to deal with anybody. But I would be very sad if my family would forget about me, but I would have to get used it I guess.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it would kill for your own family to forget about you but you got to get use to it.
DeleteI like your reasoning, but I feel like like you could apply it to the other choice. You would get a lot of attention while you're young, but you'd never get sick of the attention, you'd die. Plus, rather than rely on your money to keep you happy, why not just live happily and die before it comes to that? You would also be able to relax forever in your coffin and not have to deal with anybody as a young corpse. You could be the best and be remembered while still getting these benefits.
DeleteI agree with you because everything we do now isn't to impress people, it's for our selfs. So I'd rather be rich and famous now and be forgotten.
DeleteIf I had to choice, I would choose to gain fame and riches, and live a long time and after I retire, then I am forgotten. Reason why I chose this was because I would love to live a young wealthy life, being famous and known all over. As I get older then I would probably get sick of being famous, sick of the cameras in my face every time I walk into public, sick of my name in magazines, televisions and peoples mouth. When I retire I just want to live in peace and quiet in a area where people wont know where I'm at and that's probably usually a wooded area. I know my family would be worried but its for my own good, its time to get out the spotlight and live in peace for once.
ReplyDeleteLiving a peaceful life after you retire would be nice, but it's also pretty depressing thinking about how you're just counting down the days until you die. I'd rather go when I wasn't expecting it rather than sit around and wait until I die.
DeleteI agree with you completely but that doesn't mean you can't spend time with your family. I completely agree that it would get annoying having all of the people surrounding you or hearing your name everywhere you go.
DeleteIf I had the choice I would choose to become the best at what I do and, gain fame, riches, and live a long life, but be forgotten by everyone once I retire. I choose this because there is no point of being remembered after your dead. I would rather live long and enjoy my riches without all the fame around me. It would get really annoying if everywhere I would go people would be asking for pictures, autographs, and stuff. Also I would be able to spend more time with my family then if I were to die young.
ReplyDeleteI really agree with your last point on how you would have a long time to spend with your family. My family would be the first people I would help out financially after everyone forgot about me.
DeleteI agree, being famous would be really annoying because you can't do everyday things like walk your dog without someone asking for an autograph or to take pictures. Also, if people don't remember you for what you did it wouldn't matter because you'll still have your family and money to do what you want.
DeleteIf I had to chose between the two, I would chose to become the greatest at what I do and die young but still be remembered. I would rather be remembered and have my legacy carry on then to be forgotten about.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you will have your legacy, but somebody better will just take it as way from you.
DeleteI agree because getting old stinks and nobody wants to be seen with a Grey beard and not be remembered.
DeleteIf I had the choice between these two options, I would choose to have game and riches but die at a young age. The reason for this is that because if I pick that choice,I will know that I am going to die young andi can live it up. Another reason for this is because I won't have to deal with the aches and pains of being old and weak. It would be nice to grow up buti don't think anyone would like to have to experience those situations. If you slip and fall, chances are that you aer going to break a bone
ReplyDeleteI chose the same option, but i had chosen it for very different reasons. It seems that you don't care about being the best or about being rich and famous, you just want to die before you become a vegetable. I like the way that you chose to approach the prompt.
DeleteI disagree but agree because it's your life and you should live it the way you want but just because you achieved fame once doesn't mean you cant achieve it again.
DeleteI agree with you Joe about having to live while being old. I'd prefer to go once I've lived in my prime, rather than be a decrepit old man trying to relive my past glory.
DeleteI disagree with you because even if you are forgotten doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you enjoy doing.
DeleteI would choose to be the best at what I do, gain fame and riches, live a long life but be forgotten after I retire because I want to do as much as possible to help others while I am alive and even after everyone forgot about me when I retire, I would remember all the good I had done and I would use all the wealth I got while I was famous and use it to help even more. People may not remember me, but I would remember all the good I had done and happiness I brought to others and that would be enough for me.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose it would be to gain fame and riches, live a long life and be forgotten because when you are famous you don't have a lot of time to just live your life. If you are forgotten then you will be able to spend that time doing what you love without someone around you asking for an autograph, etc. I would also rather live a long life because life is really short and there are so many new things to try and so many things that I wish that I can do and if you live a long life you will be able to fulfill many of your dreams.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the choice it would be to be rich and famous, but forgotten after I retire. I say that because life is not about being famous and loved by everyone. life can still go on. if I die at a young age that means I will have kids behind that wont have a father as they grow up. In my opinion having a family and seeing them grow older and older is more impotent to me than fame. Fame would be really nice to have. People would look up to me, and I can be there role model. But I would choose to live a good, healthy life with my family.
ReplyDeleteI would gain riches, be rich and famous, but forgotten after I retire. Being famous is hard, having people watch every single move you do. You must be perfect and any mistake that you do will be publicized. Even though it is very hard work, everyone would like to experience having the lime-light on them. But after all the fame and glory, it would be nice to live a normal life, with family and finally have the time to appreciate the little things in life. Watching my family grow is very important to me and being forgotten by the public would allow me to do that.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great point Vanson. I can see how outgrowing your fame would be nice, but i also think it'd be nice to have a legacy.
DeleteAustin I disagree with you only because I would hate being remembered by millions of people who did not know me as a peron but only for what I achieved. It would bug me if I was alive and it would make me want to roll over in my grave if I died young.
DeleteI would choose the life where I became the best at what I did, get fame and riches, live a long life, and get forgotten by everyone after I retire. My first reason why I would choose that life would be that I would be able to live a long life. If I live a long life that would give me a chance to spend more time with family and close friends because they wouldn't forget about me. Even if all the people ended up forgetting and talking about me I really wouldn't care because too much money, fame, and attention can turn people bad and get annoying. My second reason would be that people who get famous can easily be forgotten too because of next generations of people. Like now for example kids my age only know about Michael Jordan because of the brand and video games very few know about his life or what he did, and in a couple of years a lot of people won't even know how he is. I think it's best to live long and through the fame so that I could enjoy it and be forgotten after retirement instead of dying young and not being able to enjoy anything.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, enjoy the life you work hard for.
DeleteI agree with you because family and close friends won't ever forgot about people they care about. Today, kids don't know much about Michael Jordan because they grow up watching players like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. In 20 years people won't know as much about LeBron after he retires, they just know what they're told because they didn't see it while it happened. Living a longer life will be more fun since you have money and family will be by your side still.
DeleteIf I had a choice of what kind of life to live I would live a life where I was the best at what I did, gained fame and riches and was forgotten after I retired. It would be nice being remembered but what’s the point when you haven't lived your life to its full potential. Throughout my life I would like to remember all the great things that happened in my life. It would be hard to make lots of great memories dying young. My goal in life is to raise a successful child, that would not happen dying young.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on living you're life to its full potential and not having much memories because of dying young.
DeleteI totally agree with you. In my opinion having a family and living a healthy life is better than having fame.
DeleteI would choose to become the best, bask in that glory, and die young. For me, it wouldn't even be a matter of the riches. No amount of money could possibly be half as great as the feeling of being the absolute best at your craft. I realize that I won't be around to hear people calling me the G.O.A.T. for the decades to come, but I'm alright with that. I want to be the gold standard. When that arrogant player gets called over by that annoying female journalist for that interview he could not be less interested in, I want it to be my name he says after "my inspiration was always..." There have been thousands of players who have made it to the NBA, but there can only be one who is the best. Nothing could possibly compare to be that one, to know that every single second that you were busting your hump has paid off. The ghost of Babe Ruth once visited the dreams of MLB's Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez and said, "Heroes will always be remembered, but legends never die." To be the best is to be a legend. Even if I don't live 30, I will never die as long as remain in the hearts and minds of the young players striving to one day be as good as me. My life will be short, sweet, and, most of all, lived happily.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have said it better myself Sammon. I agree 100%
DeleteI would rather be alive in flesh and blood then in the hearts and memories of those that are only remembering you because the strive to become greater then you were so they can be remembered as the G.O.A.T
DeleteI would rather choose the fame and riches but be forgotten after I retire because at the end of the day it doesn't matter who remembers you or about what people think about you. It's more than that, it's about doing something you love and wanted to achieve. It's all about doing it for yourself and being truly happy with your life because there will always be haters and every person will be forgotten someday. So saying that i would rather enjoy my life and try to accomplish another goal until I die.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, everyone, dead or alive will eventually be forgotten.
DeleteI agree completely because in the end everyone will be forgotten and if your not there to see people remembering you what is the point.
DeleteLike the most of you I would also choose fame and riches but be forgotten after I retire. We work most of our lives to be the best we can be at something, weather it would be sports or a differernt career . Whats the point of working so hard to get to where you are if you would rather just die after? When you retire you get to enjoy life and the free time you’ve worked hard for. You get to spend time with the family you’ve built, watch generations change, and think back on the good memories you’ve made. Im going to college to get a good career, not just for myself but also for my future children and to make my family proud. It would definetly be worth living the longest you can to also see your children succeed the same way.
ReplyDeleteThose were pretty good points for your choice and I agree with you on enjoying the good life after retirement.
DeleteI would rather work hard and be the best at something, get rich and famous, and then be forgotten about after I retire then rather become rich and famous and die young. What is the point to all of your hard work if you die young, somebody better will just show up and be better than you, and then you are just a name. If you choose the other option, you will be the best at something, get rich and famous, retire, and be forgotten about but still be alive. Most athletes today who were good at one point retire and then are forgotten about.
ReplyDeleteExactly, there's always going to be someone better eventually. No matter what you'll eventually be forgotten.
DeleteI agreed with you both because someone will always pass you up or be better than you at something. So you might be remembered by some people, but not all.
DeleteI would choose to be remembered and live a short life rather than live a long life where you'll never be remembered. What is the purpose of living when you can't leave a legacy after you die? Not only will you not be remembered in history books, you'll be forgotten by your friends and family, which is pretty sad to think about. When you leave a legacy after you die, you can set an example for the generations that come after you. That is what greatness truly is. We all die eventually, so why not influence the future and carve out a place for yourself in history?
ReplyDeleteI understand where your coming from, but wouldn't you want to watch your kids grow older, be there for them, and teach them everything you now? They would than carry on your legacy. It would be sad to lose your fame, but wouldn't it also be sad to bury your own dad at a young age?
DeleteI agree with you because I would absolutely not want my kids to have to lose their mom when they are still little. I also want to watch them grow up and have grandkids.
DeleteI would live a short successful life because whats the point of living a long successful life but nobody has no idea who you are. I think it's better for people to remember what you you have done to become successful. Even if you die young people everywhere well always remember exactly who you are and what you've done. If you live a long life and no one even remembers its kind of pointless.
ReplyDeleteWith the choice between dying young and being remembered or living a long life and being forgotten, I would choose the shorter life. If I ever did get famous, I would want it to be for a good reason, one that should be remembered after my career. Otherwise, what's the point of being famous if you're actions didn't have a strong enough impact on people's lives? I also think that a short life can be a fulfilling one, especially if it is lived to its fullest. I have nothing against living a long, happy, and quiet life, but I don't like the idea of fading away and being just another Flick Webb.
ReplyDeleteI can see the reasoning behind your opinion but I still disagree with it. I think having the opportunity to start your own family, have children, watch them grow up, and maybe even become famous like once you were would be way better than dying young.
DeleteI understand your point, but having fame isn't supposed to be the centerpiece of your life. Family, children, and friends are still going to be around when you are gone and in my opinion those are the people you are going to want to be with after your career is over.
DeleteI would much rather be great and forgotten then die in the young still in the game. Who cares if no remembers who you are, because you originally started doing it because it was what you loved. Before all the fame and riches no one knew who you were, and that was fine. The Riches would mean nothing if I die before I could spend it.
ReplyDeleteI would choose to become the best at what you do, gain fame and riches, and live a long life, but are forgotten by everyone after you retire.it may matter to people but if I am forgotten it will be so much better I would be peaceful with my family , just like an ordinary family . I can play with my son , ad even teach him and make him become a better player than I was or way more fame than me . Their is so much to do when your forgotten and I know the money wont make me happy because I know money does not buy you happiness , it may but for a little bit .
ReplyDeleteI would Honestly the live having riches, talent and glory, living a long and happy life. Even though I will be retiring and forgotten by everyone who knew me, I would be just fine with it because I know I lived a happy life.
ReplyDelete
