  1. Each team mate has their own different traits and characteristics but each good team mate tends to have the same qualities that make them a good team mate. A good team mate has to be motivating and supportive. If I do something wrong or mess up I wouldn’t want my team mate to just talk negatively to me and make me feel bad. I would rather have my team mate take that negative and turn into a positive. A good team should be able to pick you up when you get knocked down, metaphorically and physically. A good team mate also has to have the quality of working as a team. In some cases only working towards personal achievements and goals work best but in most cases working as a team works best. A good team mate will realize that they need to work towards a common goal and makes sure everyone else does too.

  2. In order to become a good team player, that player needs to become the leader and responsible for the plays that would go in the game. A player needs to be focused, smart, and brave because they will be times where there will be risks and in order for those risks to happen you will need courage.Teammates will also need to be told what to do at certain times because its what will make the team go in a flow and help them win as a whole. A team will also need to work together and pass the ball around and in order to do that they will need a leader to lead them in that path. I think that a leader also has to be chill and calm because there will be times where things can get crazy and the team might be angry at each other but there will be that one person that will keep everything under control.

  3. There are many things that a person should have in order to be a good team player. She/he have to be able to communicate well, be able to lead, be able to joke around, be able to be serious and have to be able to act under pressure. I've played on a team before and that’s how I know what it takes to be a good team player. During practice teammates bond with one another by messing around or telling jokes. When it comes to game time everyone knows it’s time to be serious so they can win. A team needs someone who can keep the team under control during a game or match in order to achieve their goal. That person would be the captain. If you’re on a team and you don’t communicate well you’re not going to have a good time. You have to talk to your team and let them know what you see and help your team play at a better level.

  4. To be a good team player is probably the number one rule to become a great player. You need to get along with everyone because if you do not then they wont listen. everyone on the team needs to communicate together to get the job done. such as a point guard he needs to get along with everyone or the other members wont run the plays that you want to run. You also have to have a good impression off the court which will give you a better personality on the court when it comes to game time. I have had experience that I did not like someone on the team and I thought to myself why would listen to this guy. I did not run any of the plays he said because he was a terrible team member. The best team is the teams that feel like family or a whole

  5. To be a great team mate, one needs to learn how to be kind, patient, and never self-centered. One needs to have an encouraging and positive attitude, that is on and off the court. He or she cannot only care about the starting players, but the whole team. They need to listen to coaches but also know how to put in their opinion in an appropriate way. When I think of a great team mate I personally think of Kate LoRusso. People need to take notice of her sportsman ships and learn from it. She makes everyone feel great about themselves, no matter their skill. She has a great connection with all her team mates and is ready to help them out at any given point. To be a good team player, you need to be confident in your own abilities but also in the abilities of your team mates. Do not doubt them, believe in them and always encourage them to go above and beyond.

  6. Important characteristics for a team player to have is understanding, respect, patience, and good communication skills. That's the most important of all. If your able to be able to change the way you speak in different situations then you have the ability to work with all types of people. Along with communication, understanding and respect go hand in hand. Someone on your team may be hot headed or may not work hard enough. There may be a reason behind why they are like that. No matter what that reason is, if you understand them by imagining yourself in their shows and respecting them even if you may not agree, you can work along side them with no problem. Now that skill isn't always easy. That's where patience comes in. It may have to be patience with yourself, another person, or both. If you have trouble with the other skills then you and the other person(s) can work together as best as you can and build team work over time. Not always does a middle ground come immediately so one must just wait and keep trying.

  7. Good teammates need to try their best at all times and listen to his or her teammates during a game. They also have to encourage their teammates to keep doing what their doing or give them tips if they can. They should not put any of their teammates down when they make a mistake or if they are having a bad game. This will create tension and the team will perform more poorly that they wood have if the tension was not there. A good teammate should also be able to perform at a good enough level to make the team better and not make the team worse with them being there. Good teammates need to be accepting of other teammates mistakes. They also never complain or lie about a play or something that happened they are honest and they are the teams rock when things are tough.

  8. To be a good team player it requires leadership. A person must lead a team to success or get them on track. The person should be a starter but does not necessary have to be a starter because you can be inspirational and not play.
Most people believe that a leader should lead on and off the field; so most people believe that a leader must be a starter. A leader should never put their team players down and boost their confidence or help them if they are struggling. They should never complain about a bad call or a coach yelling at them. When things get tough a leader finds a way to help there team relax and be strong. If their is tension and the game is on the line, teammates may become shaky. A leader will show no sign of nervousness even he/she is because it shows others that's not a bad spot to be in.

  9. Being a good team player is one step away from being a great player. There are a lot of qualities of being a good team player. Being determined to win makes you not wanting to give up. If a teammate is having trouble, then your going to do what ever to help them get better. You want to make the team better so there is a less chance of losing. A good team player should be confident. You need to show no sign of doubts or nervousness, it’ll make other players have second thoughts. Having respect is a quality of being a good player because you do want to get kicked out the game for being rude or mean. Being able to communicate with others is important to get the job done. You need to be able to accept players on the team and in different teams. Your team should be treated like a second family. Everyone should be treated equal and no one is judged.

  10. To become a good team player, an individual has to possess great qualities. Good team players have the ability to demonstrate great sportsmanship towards the opponent. Being friendly makes it easier to communicate with the other players, they will not show fear. Personally, I would not like to have a teammate that is rude and does not have respect. Having those qualities would only lead to miscommunication towards the players and coaches. I believe patience is also a great quality to have in being a good team player. Some players can be hotheads and rage out of nowhere. A good player would do anything to keep the situation calm and not get into an argument if they do not agree with each other. This brings me on to my next point. Though everyone has their own opinion, it is great to be able to have an open mind with decisions the other players have made. With this, the player is able to freely take any options from players and make the players feel comfortable. A team can be considered a second family. Treat them and support them.

  11. In order to be a good team player you need to have good communication skills. It is critically important for you to be a good listener and to make sure you work together. Whether you are on a basketball court, ice rink, or out on the baseball field. All players make a team and there is no “I” in “team”; therefore everyone’s voice matters, no one overpowers. Another quality a good team player should be reliable. As a team player you need to be always counted on. If the ball, puck, or birdie ends up with you, your team wants to know they can rely that you will make that play. Confidence is key when being a good team player. The team does not want someone who is going to be a Debbie downer and not believe that they can win. You need to be a motivator and get the team pumped; fuel them with your confidence and go out there and play hard!

  13. There are so many characteristics and qualities that make someone a good team player. For me personally, the most important things that matree are encouragement, selflessness, and always being involved. Encouraging teammates helps them have motivation and results in playing better together. Selflessness comes and goes. Sometimes it is necessary to be greedy and score in order to succeed. However, it is just as important to remember to share the contributions. That is what makes a team an actual team. Lastly, always making sure to be involved in the sport is important. Everyone has to put in effort because it is called teamwork. Hiding and going through the motions will not help the team or yourself as an athlete to becoming a better player. All in all, every team member brings a special skill or a quality that benefits the team. One great example is bring all your fingers into a fist. It is like everyone working together as one!

  14. The first thing you need to do to be a good team player is to get along with everyone on the team. This means that you have to get along with the coaching staff, as well. It is very important to be on the same page with everyone that is part of the team because that is what wins games. You also have to be very respectful as a teammate. If you respect everyone then they will return the favor and this creates good teammate chemistry. Taking the game seriously and taking the leadership role is what gives coaches their trust in you. They will trust that you will make the right plays and decisions to help the team win in every possible way. Also helping the younger players out so they can have a long and successful career because of the advice and wisdom that you have given to them.

  15. Being a good teammate is a big part of being on the team whether you are in soccer, softball, basketball or other sports it’s an important piece. Anyone can be a part of a team but, not everyone understands what qualities a good teammate should have and how to act as a teammate. In my opinion a good teammate should be supporting of the whole team, funny, but, serious at times. It’s about taking care of each other on and off the field and encouragement. Sometimes teammates don’t get along too well it doesn't mean you have to become best friends just put your feelings aside during practices and/or games. When becoming a part of the team you commit yourself to it to be there at practices and games but, also being there for your team. Just like you have a commitment to go to school or your job people rely on you there and so does your team and coaches.

  16. In order to be a good team player you really need to learn how to socialize and stay fair with everyone. A good team player never puts people down and/or does not make them feel more superiors than anyone else. Knowing that all sports are competitive, you obviously try to be better than an opponent. To me there is a certain limit from being competitive and being a poor team player. A good team player does not have to try and be a good teammate. To me, a good team player comes naturally. For example, some baseball players. They bunt the ball so the guy on a base could move to the next one and the hitter basically taking the out. That just shows how in baseball, they care about the teams improvement and advancement in bases and giving the teammate a step closer to scoring. Unlike Rajon Rondo. To him, Everything he feels is right he's going to do. No matter what teammate or even coach tells him. He will still to his own belief in a play. That is why I feel what makes a good team player and the qualities that good team players have.

  17. I believe a good teammate has many great qualities which make them the great teammate that they are. It's not specifically one trait but it is because they have many indispensable qualities. I believe a great teammate needs to be a leader. Il they should be able to take control of the team and get all of them on the same page mentally. They need to be vocal, they should have their words heard so the team can know what they want done. They also need to understanding. If a another person makes a mistake they should not be screaming and shouting at the person for making that mistake but instead encourage them to do better next time. A great teammate can also be serious when needed and can also joke around when the time is right. No one likes someone that is always serious, but not knowing when to be serious is also a very serious problem. There are many more things that make a great teammate but these are my main ones.

  18. Being a good teammate not only requires ability to play the sports, but also a player needs to know how to get along and encourage the team. Sometimes a good teammate doesn't even have to necessarily have to be good at the sport. A good teammate requires a sense of self control and selflessness. Putting but the team in front of yourself is also an important characteristic to have. Some people have a big ego and only think about themselves, which makes a bad teammate. Knowing how to encourage your teammates even when you aren't doing so well in the game. Being a good teammate requires most importantly a good attitude.having a good attitude requires the whole team to stay positive not only one person. A good teammate is made by a good team as well. The attitude of the team requires positive attitude from each teammate.

  19. To me a good player is player who treats his teammates as brothers. He would care about each player even if he dislikes them. How can a player not get along with his teammates and expect to do well in a game? Yes there are important qualities a good teammate must have. One important quality is respect. If someone wants to be treated well, they must treat others better. How can a player swear or disrespect another player and expect to be respected. Also honesty and teamwork is important. The more teamwork a team has, the more games they will win. Honesty can be important because if a player think another player needs work on something, they should tell them in a respectful way so the other player can become better. Not being cocky is a big thing too. Players that act like they are"all that" and try to show off a lot to impress others are just annoying players. Also when those type of players are not as good at basketball as other players.

  20. I think a good player should have good team work, good self esteem, and a great listening skills. There should be good team work because there are because if you go and play with out team work you will be all over the place. You need to have self esteem because if you don't you will be down about your self and you would not play to your best ability. If you play with out any self esteem and if you get a rude comment from the crowd you would not be able to stay at the same level as you were before the comments. you would have to find a way to block it out or deal with it. To me you would have have the best listening skills you must listen to your coach all the time. If you don't listen to the coach you might cause them to lose the play and mess it up. You are better off doing a what you are supposed to then not to do anything at all. You should make changes to the players that play

  21. There are definitely qualities they have to be held by players in order to be a good teammate. Especially if that person is a leader or looked up to. A leader's voice should be heard and powerful. Not in a way that's intimidating but in a way that helps others benefit and get better. Other qualities like getting along with everyone else and making sure problems get solved is essential. No leader should yell and put down teammates but rather pick them up and make sure they don't make the same mistake twice. A positive attitude is always important, a good teammate should be optimistic. There's a place and time for everything and its important that a good teammate or Leader understands that. For example if the point guard on the basketball team decides to skip practice other players are going to feel like its ok and might do the same. It might even turn into a usual thing. Which would make the team worse

  22. What it means to be a very good team player can mean a lot of things. What I mean by this is that to be a very good team player you have to think about how good you are in the game. What you can learn from the things you do that can be fixed is that you must have a lot of certain qualities that are very important. The qualities are being responsible, trustworthy ,disciplined, be the best you can be and never let the team down in what they can do and accomplish. Different people can make and produce different things that they can do. People need to understand that to be good at what you do you need to practice, learn from others, and use them in the future what they did and do to help you in anything the person does to be better only by themselves.
