  2. I felt really bad for Kevin Jordan how he was great in baseball and now he was struggling to find another kidney to live. I was surprised that the coach donated his own kidney to a player that he never met before. Also, felt proud of the coach how he found the guts to donate his kidney. Its something I don't know if I would do to someone I never met before. More likely I would do these scarifies for my family if it came to these kind of matters.

    2. I agree, if Coach didnt si such a generous act of kindness, there was a chance that Kevin would of die before he reached the waiting list. Coach was really brave and that's why he could be called a hero

    3. I agree because he the coach probably put himself into the players shoes

    5. I agree with you Daniel. I was also very amazed that the coach just gave his kidney away to someone he barely met. I would have to think before I just gave my kidney away because what if I do and My only good kidney gets bad then I will need a new kidney

  4. The coach had done an amazing thing to help Kevin. I believe we all shouldn't be selfish and help someone when we can. Also I found it amazing how his coach helped him with his dream and gave the second chance, that we all hope for. If I was to make a sacrifice for someone I would have to know about their life, motivation, and goals. If the person was a honest character and had much to still live for, I would make the sacrifice for them. I would do this because the world is filled with too much greed and not enough love.

    1. I agree David we shouldn't be selfish, and the world would be better if more people helped each other out.

    2. I feel the same way about it David. The coach felt like Kevin had a bright future ahead of him and he helped him out with a second chance at life .

    3. I agree David people in this world today are way to selfish and greedy. The world would be a better place with people like this coach. If i had to sacrifice my kidney i definitely would.

    4. Yes. You just gave the best reason there is to sacrifice your life for someone who you aren't to familiar. Also this world is filled with to much greed, well said David

  5. What the coach did was awesome! He proved that when someone is in need people can be there for you. If my family were in need of help I would do or sacrafice anything to help them out of the situation they are in. Not only because its the right thing to do, but I know that's what they would do for me.

    1. I have to agree with you. If one of my family members were in the hospital and needed me to sacrifice something of myself for them I would. Even if it meant taking a orgen out of me for them or just blood.

    2. I agree that if a family member needed anything I would be there to help them no matter what

  6. Wow it was amazing what coach Tom Walter did. He did a nice thing to help Kevin and make his dreams come true. If it wasn't for coach Walter , Kevin would probably not be living no more. Coach Walter should always be remembered for what he did. It surprised me how coach Walter never met Kevin and decided to donate his kidney, it was real nice of him to do that. I believe if I had a chance to help someone out, it would be my mom because she's always been there for me and took care of me.

    2. I agree, I think almost any person in any family will be willing to donate to a family member. Especially your parents if they were there for you.

    3. I agree with you Omar it was really generous off coach Walter to give Kevin a kidney transplant. If i had to donate my kidney or other organs to somebody it would also be my mom.

      Delete
    4. I agree with you very much Omar. It is crazy how the coach just gave the kidney away like that. But at the same time I also understand why. I think the coach gave his Kidney to the kid because he was young and still had his whole life and whole baseball career ahead of him which the coach had already gone through.

  7. I think that story was unbelievable.for a coach to give a player another chance in life is unheard of . I thought that it was crazy that coach went out of his way to give him his kidney acting like he had done it a million times. I think the people who deserve it is the people who need it to live and the people who need it more than you. I would sacrifice for someone I know has something going for them and is moving forward in life .

  8. It was very inspiring watching this video, seeing a coach sacrifice so much for a player he didn't really know yet. The coach made it possible for him to still chase his dreams. I would sacrifice anything for my friends or family. I think I wouldn't feel the same way if I didn't do something like that to someone because I'd feel selfish that I could have done something to help someone, but instead chose not too. Makes me wonder if Coach Erickson would do the same to one of his players.

    1. I completely agree Jorge. If I found out that I was able to donate my kidney to someone who has a lot more life ahead of me and I didn't I would feel horrible the rest of my life and would probably always wonder what could have been.

  9. I was really surprised that the coach gave a kidney to someone he never met before and I honestly don't know if I could do the same. I could only see myself giving my kidney to only really Close family members. When I say really close I mean only like five people! This is really risking your life for someone's else. This coach is a amazing guy for giving this kid life again.

    2. I disagree that it is risking your life. Doctors do tests to make sure your other kidney can function alone. Your survival rate does not decrease with living with one healthy kidney.

  10. This video was one of the most inspiring videos I've ever seen. His coach hadn't even seen him play a game, and still donated. I would donate to only my close friends and family members. If I have a chance to live and save someone's life , I'd be more then happy too. After seeing this video it changed my perception. Maybe one day you'd be in trouble and in need for a donation from a stranger. That got me thinking that I should not only donate to close friends and family. Maybe because a stranger might save me.

  11. When I saw the story of Kevin Jordan I was surprised at how much his coach gave up to save his future left fielder. This coach is a very generous and giving man helping rebuild after hurricane Katrina then gave his kidney to his future left fielder, Kevin Jordan, to save his life. I would love to say I would give my kidney to anyone in need but if I think about I'm not sure how I would act unless I was in the heat of the moment.

  12. Watching and hearing that story was so touching. That's probably the most selfless thing I've seen anybody do. I believe he did it because once a team, always a team. They stick through the good and bad. I would definitely have donated an organ considering I want to become a nurse; which is all about helping one another.

  13. this video made me realize that there is such humble and caring people out there like the coach from wake forest. the coach did not know Kevin and gave him a kidney. Kevin didn't even play one game for wake yet his freshman year. If i was the coach i would have also donated my kidney to any one if it meant saving a life. I would sacrifice for the people I love and care for because that's what i feel they would do for me if it was an organ or anything else.

  14. This video shows how much coaches care for their players. Wake Forest baseball coach, Tom Walker, saved Kevin's life! Kevin never played for Coach Walker but Tom allowed that to happen. He believed in him. His actions are inspiring. When it comes to donating my organs I would help my family and close friends, but it's unbelievable that a coach that barely knew his new player donated his kidney and saved his life. Tom Walker must feel really good after saving Kevin's life and allowing him to play college baseball. Kevin's whole life revolved around baseball and Tom saw how important it was to him. This video is a great example showing the relationship between a coach and a player.

  15. I really do like the episode of E:60. It shows how much a person is willing to sacrafice for someone on your team. The coach donated his kidney to one of his players. I really believe this is one very good thing about sports, putting others in front of yourself. Sports take away the me in life and put a we in it. Sports team become like family. You spend everyday working for them. Everyday you are sacrificing your own body to make your team better. We don't give each other kidneys, but we give so many other things. My basketball team to me are like brothers. I would be willing to do anything for them.

    1. I agree with you. You spend all Season long with them and the off season if you work with them. your team is like your second family almost

    2. I agree with you Daniel. Certain sports show young kids how to play and win together. It is a good experience. I also think that joining a sport is a sacrifice.

  16. I think what the coach did was very brave of him. For him to donate his kidney to a player on him team is brave then again kind of him. When you do that your sacrificing a part of you. I would of donated part of my body to one of my teammates. When you are on a team your like family to them. Family sticks together and are willing to sacrifice stuff for them. If one of my teammates needed a donation I would do it if I am the right blood type. I would sacrifice part of my insides for my teammates if they needed it to live.

  17. I think that this video is the most inspiring thing I've ever seen in my life. The reason I say that is what are the odds of your coach giving you a kidney, also the coach does not even know the player so well. The reason I think the coach donated his organ to Kevin he knew that he had a bright future ahead of him. Many coaches would not do such a thing to their players I think. But this coach did an amazing thing and helped his player with not only his baseball career but his life.

    3. I agree with you Belal, it takes a special person to give up something for someone else.

    4. I'm in complete agreement with you Belal. I was also inspired by the coaches selflessness at giving away his kidney to a player he barely even knew that selfless act shows how kind some people can really be, and I don't believe that many coaches would do what he did unless they are truly selfless.

    5. I agree most coaches just look at you as a player but this coach was different. He cared about this kids future and that's what made this story so inspiring. It shows that they're are still good people in this world we live in.

  18. I thought the coach did an amazing thing by doing that for Kevin, it takes a lot of courage for a person to do that. Its interesting too because the coach never even met him before, andthat Kevin didn't even play for him. If it ever came to it And a close friend or family member was in need, I would sacrifice for them, especially by parents and siblings. I think that we should all stop being selfish and do good things for the people we love.

  19. I thought that the couch did a greatbjob by doing that for kevin aswell . It sure does mean a lot when someone helps a person out and it comes streight from the heart. It is very amazing because the actual coach had not even met him in the past.in my opinion i dont think that the couch would ever do something like that. The coach did more than just help this player in baseball but he also helped him in his life !

  20. Watching these E:60 video was beyond inspiring. It shows how there are still good people in sports. Usually all every athlete or coach cares about is money. This coach gave up his kidney just to give a kid he barley knew play. That's amazing. He didn't just help his career but his life as well. If it came down to me having to sacrifice anything to a family member it'd definitely do it. But if a coach was to do something like that for me i would praise him for a long time. Big applause to that coach and organization.

  23. I was shocked that a coach would give up his kidney to someone he never met. This changes both of the peoples life completely because no the coach has to watch out and be really careful about his other kidney and the player is now able to play sports. I dont think i would be able to do that to anyone other than to my family or my really close friends.

  25. I think the coach did the right thing by giving his kidney away. I think he did the right thing because that kid has his whole baseball career ahead of him and the coach had already gone through his. Even though the coach did not know who the kid was he didn't want to ruin his life. If I was put in this situation I would have to think about giving my kidney away because what if I did then I am only left with one kidney. If that kidney goes bad then I will need someone else's kidney just like the player did. I think the coach did the right thing for the kid though.
